Joe Bonamassa noemt Jeff Beck de grootste rockgitarist ooit, en hier kan je het eigenlijk alleen maar mee eens zijn. Jeff Beck is een genie op de gitaar. Vanaf zijn begindagen met The Yardbirds tot The Jeff Beck Group en zijn solocarrière. Van de Britse bluesgitaristen is het moeilijk om iemand te vinden die avontuurlijker is dan hij. Joe is vooral gecharmeerd van het vroege werk van The Jeff Beck Group, toen hij met niemand minder dan Rod Stewart en Ronnie Wood het podium deelde. Het kon niet anders dan dat er ook een aantal songs van dat oeuvre in The British Blues Explosion show zouden eindigen.
Joe Bonamassa's liefde voor de Britse blues vormt de kern van zijn muzikale inspiratie; en, voor de eerste keer, was hij met deze onvergetelijke show in staat om een speciaal eerbetoon te brengen aan de Britse gitaristen die hem inspireerden.
British Blues Explosion Live bevat songs van o.a. Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck en Jimmy Page en geweldig bonusmateriaal, zoals een uitvoering van "Taxman" Live in de Cavern Club, de British Blues Explosion Explained door Mick Wall en een fotogalerij van de British Blues Explosion UK Tour.
